The San Diego Latino Health Coalition has launched a campaign urging the Latino community to protect their families by staying home for Christmas and getting tested for COVID-19.
The “Con Orgullo” (With Pride) campaign focuses on communities that have been disproportionately affected in San Diego County and statewide.
Nearly 58 percent of COVID-19 cases and almost 49 percent of deaths in the county are among people of Latino descent, according to the county’s Health and Human Services Agency.
With the resurgence of cases that has led to the county returning to its most restrictive level of reopening and the arrival of the first vaccine doses, local groups within the coalition are asking the community not to let down its guard.
