City officials in Davenport, Iowa announced June 5 that the bodies of three missing men had been found buried underneath the rubble of the collapsed apartment building at 324 Main Street.
Despite numerous complaints from residents and even serious warning from local contractors about serious structural problems, the building passed numerous city inspections in the months prior to the deadly collapse.
About three months before the partial collapse of a downtown Davenport apartment building — and again just two days before — a masonry company owner said he predicted it.
