BELVIDERE A 63-year-old man was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision in Boone County.
Sheriff s deputies were called about 4:45 p.m. to the 4900 block of Genoa Road and arrived to find two heavily damaged vehicles.
Authorities said one vehicle was traveling south on Genoa Road when it crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was extricated by Boone County District 2 firefighters and transported by the React Helicopter to a Rockford hospital. The driver of the northbound vehicle, Robert E. Hall of Belvidere, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
