Burlington, Ont.-based Ikea Canada confirmed it has no plans to open a store on the Island any time soon, leaving faithful fans of the Swedish-based home-furnishings retailer to take ferries to its Lower Mainland stores.

The award that Lundgard had received is a provincial award sponsored by the Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA). The award celebrates the uniqueness of students that inspire teachers, peers, and education leaders with a total of 204 nominations submitted province-wide, only 12 students had been selected to receive this award.
