From the moment most students step on campus, their Westminster College experience is enriched by the philanthropic support of others. And now students and alumni have the opportunity to pay it forward in a 10-day fundraising campaign.
The Campus That Built Me campaign running from April 26 to May 6 asks current students and alumni to consider thanking a faculty or staff member who helped “build” them by making a small gift in that person’s honor.
Any Westminster College employee who has made an impact whether it is a favorite professor, coach or staff member can be recognized. Gifts, which can be made in any amount, can benefit a chosen campus program or department or they can be assigned wherever funds are most needed.

Westminster College Sports Management students will host a virtual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event from April 11 to May 8 to support the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County (CSLC) and call for an end to sexual assault and violence.
Students in the Sports and Event Planning and Management capstone course have teamed up with Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, an international campaign encouraging men to walk one mile in women’s high-heeled shoes as a symbol of standing up against sexual assault violence.
Most members of NC delegation vaccinated, but not all
WASHINGTON Members of Congress were among the first people in the U.S. to have access to the sought-after COVID-19 vaccine when the initial doses became available in December.
Three months later, a States Newsroom survey across 22 states making up a large swath of Congress found at least 155 members of the U.S. House and Senate have been vaccinated, based on a tally of responses from their offices and other public statements. Most, but not all, are Democrats, even as pollsters find greater hesitancy and even disinterest among Republicans in the broader U.S. adult population when it comes to the vaccine.
