Well, Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino sure is cleaning out the UFC women’s bantamweight division. It’s too bad that the Brazilian is a 145-pound fighter, though. While her victory over Yana Kunitskaya in the UFC 222 headliner was another impressive piece of work for the women’s MMA legend, it was one more defense against a fighter who typically competes a weight class below Cyborg’s featherweight division. After taking out Dan Hooker at UFC 257, Michael Chandler became an instant title contender at 155 pounds.
Will Brooks, one of the few fighters to definitively have Chandler’s number, was watching that performance. With respect to Chandler, he likes their chances if they fight again.
The two former Bellator standouts first met at Bellator 120 on May 17, 2014, and it was Brooks who scored the upset victory via split decision to claim an interim lightweight title. An immediate rematch was booked six months later for Bellator 131, and the second time, Brooks finished Chandler with strikes in the fourth round.

UFC Vegas 20: Rozenstruik vs. Gane is all wrapped up. And what looked to be a promising, high level card on paper, unfortunately turned into something of a slog. Ciryl Gane proved that he can fight a cautious, winning bout at a very high level but that’s hardly what anyone hoped to see when he was matched up with heavyweight KO artist Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Magomed Ankalaev, similarly, failed to thrill in the co-main but continued to look like a tough problem to solve at light heavyweight.
So, is Gane getting rushed too far too fast as a headlining fighter, with only three years of pro MMA experience? Is Ankalaev primed for a top contender’s bout? And can Pedro Munhoz make his bid for contention off a big win over Jimmie Rivera?
