SPRINGFIELD As the city steps up coronavirus vaccinations, health and municipal officials on Monday praised a continued reduction in new cases of COVID-19 and a decline in hospitalizations.
The statistics were shared at the weekly COVID-19 update at City Hall, provided by Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, department heads and Springfield area hospital administrators.
“The days are getting a little bit longer, and the sunlight, the warmth helps to heal us,” Sarno said. “And hope springs eternal. Because we will defeat this COVID-19.”
