Ocala Horse Allianceseeks local horse farms to partner in its new five-year partnership with Marion County Public Schools. The Black Stallion Reading Project is designed to use horses to incentivize fourth grade
students to advance their reading and comprehension skills and simultaneously promote horses, horse sports, and bring awareness to career opportunities available in the equine market in Marion County, the alliance says.
The alliance seeks horse farms to become active and supportive partners with elementary schools through the Farms to Schools Partners program, which pairs a farm or ranch with a local school. Contact OcalaHorseAlliance@aol.com for an application and additional information.
