Family and friends are remembering a teenager killed just a day beginning his senior year of high school. Alex savidge just spoke to the teens family and joins us from the site where he was killed. Reporter good afternoon. 17yearold Robert Orlando spent the last day of his summer fishing with friends at a nearby lake. He was blocks away from home last night at 9 00 at night. You can see this afternoon, people have placed flowers. There is a sign as well as the site where this accident happened. Theres also a golf club sitting here on the ground. Thats because orlando was on his High School Golf team according to relatives i talked with today. He was all set to start his senior year today here in danville. Classes started this morning. Relatives said this young man was smart, outgoing and generous. He was a charismatic, young man who lived to fish. He was involved in football and sports all of his life. Directly in the newsroom, but to see visually the fire seems to really be taking a bit of a lay down, which is good news considering the winds we have been tracking and how it looked just 15 minutes ago. Yeah based on the smoke it looks it has really been isolated to that area next to interstate 80 where a couple homes, perhaps as many as five structures are on fire. This is tape taken just a little bit ago. The house that you are seeing herings it has since continued to burn here, it has continued to bunch it almost appears as if the firefighters realized they could not save this house and move on to keep this fire from spreading to neighboring homes. These are live pictures now. That particular house is essentially lost, but the good news, you can see that house right next door. It looks like at least at this point the fire has not spread from that home to the home next door. Its unclear if the man who police shot will survive. Police say around 1 00 this morning an Armed Robbery took place in the downtown area. A suspect and car description went out to officers and that car was spotted by officers. The suspect wouldnt stop. Police pursued it and we are told the car crashed here on the east side near king and beverly. At some point, shots were fired. Bridge closed and crews have been working around the clock to complete everything that need to be done for next weeks opening. Were also taking a look at the work being done on the span this afternoon from this Vantage Point on yerba buena avenue. Check out this gaping hole in the deck of the old bridge. Crews wasted no time today getting this section of the roadway demolished. Its just one of many projects under way.
