phony cancer scam. pretend toxic for three and half years. the woman who faked having cancer learned her fate. hello. i m don scott. dina leone pretended to have cancer to get money from her friends. alex demetrick has details on her sentence. reporter: dina leone was facing 15 years and 15 years is what she got. dina leone s journey to court began six years ago when she said she had stomach cancer and began soliciting money. that scam fell apart last year. pretending to be sick for over three and a half years. reporter: last summer she pled dpil ti. today in court she told the judge she was mentally ill, sock, telling one of her victims how sorry she is. jennifer lynch who lost her mother to cancer talked about how this left emotional scars but forgives the woman. the one thing i do have is that she found god and through all of the pain she can start forgiving herself and asking for forgiveness from god. that one bad person shouldn t affect anyone. every one
