Windhoek motorists must be cautious
STREETS in Windhoek are flooded and some have been closed for traffic after heavy rains fell earlier this afternoon.
As much as 40 millimetres of rain was measured in parts of the city and more rain is expected.
The river crossings in Klein Windhoek have also been closed off for motorists after the Klein Windhoek River came into flood again.
Independence and Robert Mugabe avenues have been closed after large pools of stormwater formed in the lower-lying areas.
The area most affected in Independence Avenue is near the Simon de Witt Bridge where stormwater is running knee-deep over the street.
