A Keokuk man was arrested after driving the wrong way several times on Highway 218 Saturday afternoon.
According to the Washington County Communications Center, at about 3:29 p.m. dispatch was informed of a driver traveling in the wrong lane of traffic, at high rates of speed, and also driving on the shoulder of the roadway. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested 57-year-old Robert Lee Gregory on a traffic stop near Vine Avenue on charges of operating while intoxicated second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor, with citations for driving the wrong way on a two-way highway, no insurance, failure to carry registration card, and open container. Charges are pending per lab results on possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
