Robert Kiolbassa, who served many roles over several decades, died on Tuesday at the age of 84.
Robert s son and president of Kiolbassa Smoked Meats, Michael Kiolbassa, said his father set the foundation for running a successful business. I don t think he ever imagined we would be a company we are today, Michael said.

Robert Kiolbassa, a leading figure in the transformation of the San Antonio-based Kiolbassa Smoked Meats company into a sausage powerhouse, died Tuesday surrounded by friends and family. He was 84.
From 1960 to 2021, Robert’s career arc at the company his parents Rufus and Juanita founded in 1949 took him from sweeping the floors and fixing broken machine equipment to acting as its president and CEO.
