Older readers may still think of everywhere east of West Germany as Eastern Europe. Though sometimes agglomerated into broader groupings of Central and Eastern Europe, we would follow their own national preference (and some historical and geographic logic) and describe Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary as comprising Central Europe.
These four countries differ in their opportunities and where you would start, but they are similar enough, close enough and influence each other sufficiently that for the long term of 20‒30 years, it is sensible to consider their prospects together.
