Article content KAMLOOPS A man charged in connection with a Valentine’s Day robbery and kidnapping spree in 2019 has died in custody, while awaiting trial. Robert James Rennie, who was on the Kamloops RCMP’s most wanted list, passed away at the North Fraser Pretrial Centre in Coquitlam on March 12. Rennie, 33, had a bail hearing the day before his death, which was adjourned. The charges against him were stayed by the Crown on the afternoon of March 12. Man wanted in Kamloops for 2019 Valentine s Day robbery, assault arrested in Vancouver | iNFOnews

Image Credit: SUBMITTED / Kamloops RCMP March 02, 2021 - 3:02 PM A Kamloops man on the run since last April has been arrested by the Vancouver Police Department. Robert James Rennie was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for crimes committed on Valentine s Day 2019, including armed robbery, assault with a weapon and forcible confinement. He was arrested by Vancouver Police in a traffic stop on March 1, around 2:20 p.m., according to a Kamloops RCMP press release. Kamloops RCMP first arrested Rennie and two others following the initial investigation. The two other men, Michael Mathieson and Justin Daniels, had previously been sentenced, RCMP said. Rennie, however, did not stick around for sentencing.
