Lawyers ask a judge to detain the author of ‘The Weight-Loss Cure “They” Don’t Want You to Know About’ as they try to find millions he may have hidden away.
An unusual terrorism case in Chicago came to a close Thursday when a federal judge handed a 7½-year prison sentence to a former DePaul University student from Park Ridge who tried to aid the Islamic State with a computer script.
“I failed everyone, and I failed myself.” He told the judge, “I was in a dark place when all of this happened and, looking back, I see how alone I felt.”
Thomas Osadzinski, a former DePaul computer science student, has been sentenced to 7 and a half years in prison for attempting to help the Islamic State group.
