"A People's History of Iraq", by Ilario Salucci. Haymarket Books 2005 This book is an odd patchwork, and misleadingly titled (it is not at all a general history of Iraq), but contains some useful stuff. The core of it is 100 pages, first published in Italian in 2003, of a fairly breathless narrative history of the Iraqi Communist Party up to 2002 by Salucci. Added to that in the English edition are:
