According to insurance information site The Zebra, Colorado homeowners' average annual insurance premium of $2,271 was the fifth highest in the nation in 2021, compared with the national average of $1,406. Coloradans' average rate has risen 40 percent since 2019, when Colorado homeowners paid an average premium of $1,618 a year and the state ranked seventh.
