Evanston celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Evanston celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month with a multitude of celebrations this year, ranging from worry doll making kits to community-wide events. Approximately 12% of Evanston residents identify as Hispanic or Latino/a/e, according to United Census Bureau data. Additionally, 8,778 people who identify as Hispanic live in Evanston –– almost double the 4,541 residents counted.

Robert Crown hosts affordable rental information session

Community Partners for Affordable Housing shared information about how to apply and qualify for upcoming affordable rentals in Evanston in a Tuesday information session at Robert Crown Branch Library. The information session highlighted the Inclusionary Housing Ordinance, which was implemented in 2019 to promote Evanston residents’ welfare. It requires residential developments to include a percentage.

Moran Center and Evanston Public Library provide eviction expungement
