Evanston, Skokie residents discuss visions for affordable housing at joint housing forum

Evanston and Skokie residents voiced their concerns on housing affordability Saturday at Homing in on Housing, a housing forum hosted by Community Alliance for Better Government and Skokie Neighbors for Housing Justice. Held at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, the event brought together speakers to share about their housing struggles and successes and invited attendees to.

City sets move-out deadline for Wesley Avenue tenants

Residents living at 2014, 2018 and 2024 Wesley Ave. are required to move out by May 13, city officials announced at a Tuesday meeting held with tenants and Evanston housing organizations.  In early February, the city sent a notice to the tenants requiring them to leave the 5th Ward buildings immediately because of structural deterioration.

The Skanner News - Portland Value Inn Is Renamed Jamii Court

Community Partners for Affordable Housing (CPAH) in partnership with HAKI Community Organization and the Urban League of Portland renames this community Jamii Court. The redevelopment is located at 10450 SW Barbur Boulevard near Markham Elementary School, the Multnomah County Capitol Hill Library, and Holly Farm Park. CPAH will create 77 new affordable housing homes for families, and those exiting long-term homelessness. Additionally, 39 units will be deeply affordable for households who make 30% of the area median income (AMI) or below, and 15 units will be Supportive Housing.
