When this column is published, it will be Dec. 23, two days away from Christmas. Some people see that as just another day to get ready for the big holiday. Others who watch Friends celebrate whatever happens on Christmas Eve Eve. But for my family, Christmas officially starts with the airing of grievances.
Anyone who remembers watching Seinfeld should remember the show’s final Christmas episode, where George Costanza’s father celebrates his own made up holiday, Festivus, instead of Christmas. The confirmation of it being the 23rd came from a throwaway line Kramer said in the episode, and thus we have a date.
