Neither the media nor anybody else is allowed in that area. There were a couple of tenths hours, just after 1 00 this afternoon. We have some video of the activity. One man was walking near one of the fountains on the west side of the u. S. Capitol. He pulled out a gun and shot himself. A witness said it sounded like a balloon popping. Nearby, near the mans body was a backpack and roller case. They were considered suspicious packages. Both the u. S. Capitol and the Visitor Center wore off balance as the bomb techs came in and inspected the packages.
