Local Scene: Live music options shaping up for summer fun

Tom Lounges More and more outdoor shows are being announced for the Spring/Summer months around the Region. Most of them are all ages, free to the public community events. Giovanni Taliaferro, the Director of Memorabilia Design for Hard Rock International, gave a guided tour of music memorabilia tied to the Jackson family on Wednesday. Crown Point s Bulldog Park Pavilion (183 S. West St.) again features live music performances through the summer and fall months. Some, in tandem to the city s Thursday afternoon Classic Car Cruises, feature the bands Soundz Of Santana, Mellencougar, Oscar & The Majestics, The Relics, Blues Fuse, among others. Taste of Crown Point on July 16 and 17 has tribute acts Echoes of Pompeii and The MegaBeatles, headlining respectively. Later in the season at Bulldog will be performances by Bonfire, Women of Motown, Pawnz, Lauren Dukes Band and Nawty, among others. More: facebook.com/CPSpecialEvents.

Live music slowly returns as festival buzz begins

Tom Lounges People have proven they are ready to get out of the house after nearly a year of putting the skids on social events, especially concerts. Just as the city of Chicago has started thinking about resuming some of its bigger summer events, many local Northwest Indiana communities have likewise started to talk about, and in some cases plan, a return to annual spring and summer music fests and events. While nothing seems in stone as of this week, the wheels are starting to roll in that direction regionally. Jesse and Priscilla Jones were treated to some musical entertainment by Jordan Warren, Noah Ostrom and Camille Cherch on Saturday in Highland as the couple celebrated their 72nd anniversary.
