Mackie stars as Captain Leo, an android officer in 2036 who’s suddenly paired up with Damson Idris’s Lt. Thomas Harp (‘Snowfall’, ‘Black Mirror’), a young and scrappy drone pilot. Movies with Mary: Outside the Wire too out of it

Movies with Mary: Outside the Wire too out of it Mary Cox The Telegraph FacebookTwitterEmail I realized I was becoming a couch potato this year (as are so many people), so I decided it was time for an action film. I have reviewed so many feel good movies to get us through the COVID mess that I felt something that was fast paced and appealed to a more male audience was in order. When I saw “Outside the Wire” on Netflix, I hoped this might fill my thirst for adventure. When drone pilot, Lt. Harp (Damson Idris) refuses a direct order, he is sent into a deadly militarized zone where he sees firsthand how his drone strikes affected the populous of Ukraine. Assigned to work under Capt. Leo (Anthony Mackie), a top-secret android officer, Harp is tasked with locating a Russian nuclear device before insurgents do. The clock is ticking.

(Photo: NETFLIX) A dystopian near future warzone, robots and AI, Russian terrorists, action-packed firefights with tons of bullets and explosions. The story of a drone pilot who has to team up with an android officer in a top secret mission in order to save the world from a nuclear attack. Judging by its premise, the latest futuristic war film Outside The Wire seems to have all the ingredients good sci-fi action movies should have. And while it s setting the scene for what we can expect, that s not always necessarily a good thing as Outside The Wire feels like a middling effort with an ineffective gimmick and undercooked script.

Outside the Wire: Netflix s deeply disappointing futuristic blast from the past

However, it’s a very human decision that drives Outside the Wire. After making a snap judgement to take out the potential threat of an armoured vehicle which appeared to be menacing a group of 40 soldiers, Haribo-loving drone pilot Lieutenant Thomas Harp (Damson Idris) finds himself in the firing line for the resulting death of the two who were in the blast zone. But rather than being court-martialed, Harp is redeployed – to the frontline. “Consider it an all-expenses paid refresher in how to save the world,” his airforce base boss intones. Once on the ground, Harp is assigned to the care of Captain Leo (Anthony Mackie). To his horror, Harp’s first task is to assist Leo in delivering cholera vaccines “20 clicks outside the wire”. “It might be a warzone, but women and children still get sick,” Leo informs him, when Harp whines that he thought he would simply be guarding a fence.
