approval within the fbi and notification to the highest level of department of justice. what do you make then of what we are hearing from sources and from bill barr who is saying he doesn t recall this. rob rosen stein telling people he wasn t aware of this. jeff sessions saying the same. what do you make of that? in the broadest sense, pam, it is hard to believe, because of the rules and policies i mentioned. in this specific case, contradicted by other reporting we heard. new york times reported several individuals indicated that former deputy attorney general rosenstein was briefed on these matters twice a week. we heard william barr when he came into the justice department reviewed these cases, contradicted recommendation of the prosecutors, and brought in his own handpicked prosecutor from new jersey. those acts alone are simply inconsistent with statements, now that nobody was told
results. sean: with lies. it s a violation of federal felony statutes, abuse of power. you are not allowed to use your public office to interfere, disrupt somebody s constitutional rights, the right to privacy, carter paige, and the president of the united states, pedaling a false story that they knew was fabricated. sean: this was rob rosen stein s department ofpa justice. jeff sessions is recusing. now he has a special counsel. he has another problem. he s up to his eyeballs in all of this. he appointed the special counsel. he signed the third renewal application. actually, it was the fourth renewal application. he knew everything. or he should have known everything that happened prior town that. so the first three applications, those first three renewals that went over and over again untilr he finally got it had all the
missiles program. a spokes person told msnbc, we have received the letter and will respond to the senator directly. rob rosen stein has asked for help in vetting the president s supreme court nominee. he asked all united states attorneys to review the documents for brett kavanaugh. who is going to replace anthony kennedy. rosenstein said he needed the people to go over the appointment. it s a broad request. that usually has career department lawyers and highlights a growing concern among republicans as former aid to george w. bush and independent council investigator against bill clinton and the other 300 opinions issued in his tenure on the u.s. court of
look, we re just trying to do our job. rob rosen stein said on may 31 he didn t believe there was constitutional reason for oversight. it is our job to make sure the funds are used correctly. here you have an investigation of the sitting president of the united states where in response to my questioning the deputy attorney general wouldn t say whether he red the document he signed. allowing intelligence to be collected against someone associated with donald trump. so, i m deeply concerned, when you have people aren t telling the truth to congress. that are hiding documents that aren t national security-related, just embarrassing. at the same time, they continue to allow the investigation to persist against the president, that is built on rotten foundation, from bias agents who demonstrated bias in text messages to one another. i think it is time to wrap the investigation up and move on to the important issues facing the country. shannon: what with you passed on thursday is suggesting
