Rabbi Stabbed In Brighton; Suspect In Custody

The committee named the victim as Rabbi Shlomo Noginski. Boston police confirmed that an adult man was stabbed in the area of Chestnut Hill Avenue and Washington Street at about 1:19 p.m. but did not name him and his injuries were not life-threatening. Police say the suspect, 24-year-old Khaled Awad, of Brighton, has been arrested and charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on an officer. He will be arraigned in Brighton District Court. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contract police detectives or submit an anonymous tip.
