Melbourne and Orlando airport officials appear on the verge of settling their five-year dispute and costly lawsuit over the use of a word: “Orlando.”
The solution: Orlando Melbourne International Airport may rearrange its name, trademarks and branding to “Melbourne Orlando International Airport.”
In March 2019, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority sued its smaller Melbourne counterpart in federal court, claiming trademark infringement and false advertising for using Orlando in its name.
