The 58-year-old Republican mayor announced on Facebook Sunday that he will not seek another term. He is into his third term now and that expires on Dec. 31, 2023. “I don’t intend to run for another term,” he said. “Twenty-two-years as an elected official in (Mount Olive) is enuf (sic), 12 as mayor; three years to go.” “It’s been a great honor to have had the trust,” he added. “Good times ahead. Let’s make MO over the next three years the best!”
