Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is pleased to welcome former United States Attorney Mike Stuart as its newest partner in Charleston, West Virginia. Stuart will practice with the firm’s national corporate department. He joins new Lexington partner Rob Duncan as the second former federal prosecutor to migrate to Dinsmore in less than a month.
This is a return to the private sector for Stuart, who spent the past three-plus years as the presidentially nominated and Senate-confirmed United States attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia. Prior to his public service, Stuart spent more than a decade co-leading Steptoe & Johnson PLLC’s corporate services and tax practice group, during which time he worked on several multi-billion-dollar M&A and securities transactions and helped the firm grow tremendously across multiple states. The Digital Divide: How Does it Divide Hoosiers, is now available. This report provides an overview of the issues covered in the seminar, which took place on 12/10/2020. The report is a collaboration of Christine McCall, Family Policy Intern and 2020 recipient of the Levien Family Policy Scholarship; Shelley MacDermid Wadsworth, Center for Families Director; and Rob Duncan, Family Policy Scholar.
The pandemic has highlighted the “digital divide”. Broadband access varies widely across Indiana, and affects key elements of the state budget including K-12 education and health care. This Family Impact Seminar shared evidence about useful policy strategies and featured the following presentations.
Charleyne Aschenbrenner of Fountain Hills passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Jan. 31, 2021 at the age of 92. Char was born Jan. 3, 1929 in Pasadena, Calif., to William and Charleyne Nobes.
After growing up in California, she found her way to Phoenix, Ariz., where she met and married Ralph Trompeter. Char was a caring and fun-loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and great grandmother who had many friends in many places. She was fun to be with and appreciated her many close friendships.
After 28 years of marriage to Ralph Trompeter, Ralph passed at the age of 54. After a time of mourning and learning to move forward, Ralphâs trusted and longtime best friend and fraternity brother at Northwestern University, Frank Aschenbrenner (Ralph, Char and Frank were friends for many years), helped Char get her life back together. As luck and good fortune would have it, Frank and Char began dating and ultimately were happily married for 30 blissful years until his pass
Unofficial results released by the city showed Andrew leading with 6,937 votes and Stefanie Hardman of Together Victoria in second place with 3,783 votes well ahead of the other nine candidates. “This is absolutely fantastic,” Andrew said, after taking a call from Hardman congratulating him on his victory. “You never know until you know. We knew we ran a strong campaign, we just didn’t really know how strong until we saw those numbers come in tonight. “It’s an overwhelming majority, and I think it’s an overwhelming referendum on the fact that Victorians want a change at the council table.”
