TravelOregon provided the city with means to refurbish a largely empty space
Thanks to a $100,000 grant from TravelOregon, a one-acre slice of Dundee will get some sprucing up and refurbishment to become a park later this year.
The grant – which equals the maximum amount a city can receive – was part of a $2.4 million investment by the Oregon Tourism Board in communities throughout the state. It was set up to provide opportunities for visitors to gather, socialize or eat in a comfortable and visually appealing outdoor setting.
According to Dundee City Manager Rob Daykin, the project will cost about $132,000 total. The final $32,000 will come from a combination of city tourism funds and in-kind donations, he said.
