(Courtesy Michael s Cause) Facebook Share STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Pleasant Plains resident Leo Aquatico is gearing up to raise money for a special cause Michael’s Cause. The PS 3 paraprofessional is planning for an incredible run that will total 48 miles. From March 8-10, Aquatico will run four miles every four hours during a 48-hour span for a total of 48 miles to help raise awareness for Michael’s Cause and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He has already received over $2,000 in donations for his efforts.

The nonprofit organization Michael’s Cause, which raises awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and directs funding to research for better treatments and a cure for the disease, received a very special donation during the Christmas season. Although a modest amount, the $400 donation comes straight from the heart of the fourth grade students of PS 36, Annadale, who could not exchange holiday gifts because of COVID-19 restrictions.
