Despite winning only five races to Honda’s 12 this year, Chevrolet has taken its eighth crown in the 12 IndyCar seasons since it returned to the series at the start of the 2.2-liter V6 twin-turbo era.
For the second time this season, the Chevrolet drivers and teams of the NTT INDYCAR Series will compete on the 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway as part of a triple-header event weekend with NASCAR’s Xfinity and Cup Series.
Next year’s NTT IndyCar Series grid is expected to look nice and familiar. With a modern record of 27 full-time entries shared across Chevrolet and Honda in 2023, the same number of cars are expected to line up when the new season begins.
