they have been a target over the months. rob brownstein, let me read a tweet that you posted. it goes like this. if 20 high school students chanted this at a classmate how many would be expelled. if 20 employees ye8d, how many would be fired. how much of u.s. will accept this as a new standard? you got a lot of reaction. like 60,000, i think, reaction. i think if we focus on the president s maneuvering, and all he s doing today is the same two-step back in 2016. if we focus on the maneuvering, we lose the magnitude of how abbert this is. to understand it, the original go back, not to mention the chant, is to imagine it, as i m saying in any other context in american life. imagine 20 high school juniors standing around a classmate in a
kaitlan collins, thank you very much. i want to bring in rob brownstein at the atlantic. thank you both for being here. thank you, martin. president trump says he has no problem with kim jong-un s actions, obviously the japanese have a problem with that. i m wondering here, is this a strategy on the part of the president, in other words, to play down whatever the north koreans may do. because giving them attention only seems to feed them into doing more? i think he has climbed out pre pretty far on the limb that he alone can fix it compared to earlier presidents. i think president trump is very reluctant at every point. we have seen this repeatedly to acknowledge the bumps in the road, the reversals of course from north korea. he has a lot invested in proving he can make this work. which gives a lot of leverage to the other side in the
not role playing, that this was not 50 shades of gray. it wasn t in a gray area at all. this was activity that happened in many cases fully clothed outside of a sexual context during arguments he continues to talk about how difficult it was for these women to even come forward. we re talking about the highest legal wise in the state of new york. we also know that manhattan s district attorney is looking into all this conduct. thank you. let s bring in our appreciate political analyst rob brownstein and alex byrnes. as john pointed out so aptly this morning, yeah for journalism, right. horrific that this happened, but good that people are being held accountable. three hours after these allegations came out, alex, he resigns. it s really staggering that this is it s not just the breadth and severity and really disturbing nature of the allegations, it s the reality that eric schneiderman was so
loyal democrat. you ve got chuck schumer, the number three democrat in the senate from new york, they re skeptical of this deal. they are. the big question is whether they give him the six months are upping room to test as secretary kerry said, whether in fact, iran is serious about reaching a long-term agreement. there s no question i think that the congress wants to at least set in motion sanctions that will be toughened if the deal isn t reached. the bigger question is whether they actually threaten to undermine his position by imposing further sanctions during this window. my guess is he can fight this off and get this running room to see whether this is serious over the next six months. beyond that, i think if this doesn t work, there s a very clear signal to iran there will be tougher sanctions coming down the road. maybe it will work. we ll see. thanks very much, rob brownstein for that. a new federal push to help the mentally ill as we approach the anniversary of sandy ho
