Traffic starting to build as you can see theres a little bit of red there. Folks are waking up and getting out of the house and heres a live look at 680 in walnut creek where traffic is moving but going a little slow this morning. Jess. From the live desk, we are tracking a horrific crash in the south bay. I want to show you video just coming in to the abc7 newsroom from san jose. Shows the scene of the accident on mcdaniel avenue. A car plowed into a couple trees and from this angle, you cant even tell it used to be a car. Incredibly, the driver walked away with only minor injuries. Officers say they actually found him sitting on the curb talking to people. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Police right now are talking to the driver to find out the cause of the crash and determine if alcohol was a factor. The bay area bracing for whats expected to be a weekend of protests. The focus moves to berkeley where an anti marxist rally is planned this afternoon, but yesterday thousands of people turned out in San Francisco to promote an anti hate message.
