Gardai are out in force for National Slow Down Day, with over 500 breaches detected in just nine hours.
Of the 532 infractions recorded so far, the biggest breach was detected in Brownsbarn near the Citywest shopping centre.
Gardai found the motorist in question to have exceeded the 100kph limit by 37kph.
Gardai and the Road Safety Authority are appealing to drivers to increase compliance with speed limits in order to reduce the number of lives lost on our roads every year.
