Duvalls fuel blowout of CAI, 69-9
Coming off of a disappointing loss the night before in the Rivertown Classic championship game, Switzerland County Lady Pacer head coach Mark Boggs and his troops didn’t take long to shake off the after effects, hosting Christian Academy of Indiana in a Saturday matinee and winning by a lopsided score of 69-9.
It was over early, as the Lady Pacer outscored their guests 17-0 in the opening eight minutes.
Jessie Duvall led the way with eight points in the period, including two three pointers; while Maddie Duvall had a three pointer and a field goal for five points. Keirstan Oeffinger and Hannah Hayes each contributed a bucket in the first to round out the scoring.
Wrightsman earns All Tourney nod
Switzerland County junior Bryce Wrightsman connected for 18 points in Saturday’s Rivertown Classic consolation game with Lawrenceburg, but it wasn’t enough as the Pacers fell in another heartbreaker by a final score of 50-41.
Both teams got out to a fast start, with the Pacers scoring 12 first period points while the Tigers notched 15.
The close play continued into the second stanza, as both teams accounted for eight points, which gave Lawrenceburg an narrow, 23-20 edge heading into the halftime break.
The third period was again a close one, but the Tigers kept managing to ease out to slight advantages over the eight minute spans 11-7 in the third which was just enough to keep Switzerland County on the chase.

Led by Maddie Duvall’s 19 points, the Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity basketball team defeated Rising Sun last Wednesday night in the opening round of the Rivertown Classic by a score of 57-23.
Maddie Duvall led a big offensive display that saw nine different players score in the game for Switzerland County, as the squad grabbed an early lead and never looked back.
The score was 15-8 after one period of play, as Maddie Duvall got off to a sizzling start, accounting for nine points on a pair of field goals, a three-pointer and two freethrows.
Keirstan Oeffinger connected on a three-pointer in the opening stanza; as did Jessie Duvall.

The journey that the Switzerland County Lady Pacers hoped would earn them a Rivertown Classic championship came to a halt on Friday night, as the Lady Pacers fell to Lawrenceburg in the title game by a score of 54-30.
After posting impressive offensive statistics in the semifinal game two nights earlier, the Lady Pacers couldn’t really mount any offense against the Lady Tigers.
Switzerland County managed to break double figures in just one of the four quarters the third and that spelled doom against a really good Lawrenceburg team.
