However, County Supervisor V. Manuel Pérez on Monday said he was requesting that any decision be postponed to May 5 to allow Palm Desert to review a traffic study and other documents.
Pérez participated in a virtual town hall meeting Monday afternoon that was hosted by Palm Desert’s mayor. It included representatives of Oak View Group, the Los Angeles-based sports and entertainment company that wants to build the arena, who answered questions and addressed concerns of residents.
“I am 100% fully behind this project,” Pérez said. While
the arena is proposed to be built on land in the unincorporated area of Thousand Palms and thus falls under the purview of county planners
