But more urgently right now, floodwaters are rising. Emergency officials are warning people in parts of North Carolina to get to Higher Ground or they are risking their lives. The flood threat is already proving deadly. In just the last hour the death toll from the storm went up. It now stands at eight. The latest victims of florence are two people caught in flash flooding in fast moving water just north of wilmington, North Carolina. Again, eight people now dead from this storm. And forecasters say conditions will continue to worsen as long as this massive weather system just sits and dumps rain, refusing to break apart or to move faster.
