The whereabouts of the former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Okey Wali (SAN), who was kidnapped by gunmen at the Obiri-Kwere axis of the East-West Road near Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital remains unknown. Recall that Wali was kidnapped by gunmen who intercepted his vehicle, opened fire and killed his driver and one other aide before whisking him away. Wali’s abduction which is the second time has raised concerns of insecurity in Rivers State, with the NBA, Port Harcourt branch, calling for his unconditional and early release.

Nigeria Police Speak On Arrest Of Lawyers Handling APC Election Petition In Rivers Hotel

The Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has spoken about why and how three lawyers handling the All Progressives Congress (APC) election petition were arrested alongside five others in Port Harcourt, the state capital.   SaharaReporters had reported that the three legal practitioners namely Jerry Aondo, Dr Sobere Nelson and Odum Eyiba, who were part of the legal team of the governorship candidate of the APC in the March 18 governorship poll, Tonye Cole, were in the state to file an election petition before the police swooped in on them.
