The police in Rivers State have said no suspect has been arrested for the killing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Director in the Ahoada West Local Government Area of state, Chisom Lennard, 48 hours after he was slain. Lennard was reportedly abducted on Saturday by gunmen in police uniform while he was casting his vote during the governorship and State Assembly elections at Ibagwa Polling Unit 2, Ward 10 in Ahoada West local council. It was gathered that he tried to stop the gunmen from snatching election materials when he was kidnapped.

A two-storey building collapsed on Saturday in Aluu community in Rivers State, South-South Nigeria, reportedly killing three labourers. Confirming the incident, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, said that “only one labourer died as a result of the incident.” Meanwhile, TheCable reports that while confirming the incident on Sunday, the head of the disaster management rescue team of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the state, Ngene James, said three labourers died in the building collapse.
A Rivers State man only identified as James has reportedly initiated the arrest of a 17-year-old teenage girl in Rumuokwuta Obio’Akpor local government area of the state for refusing his sexual advances. It was gathered that the man brought policemen from Kala Police Division in the state to arrest the girl at Best Man Estate in Rumuokuta, alleging that she declined his sexual advances after giving her money several times.
