Flood warnings and alerts issued for Cumbria as heavy rainfall continues

Flood alerts have been issued across Cumbria. As a yellow weather warning for rain – issued by the Met Office – remains in place today (February 23) and tomorrow, flood alerts and warnings have been issued across the county. Flood warnings, meaning flooding is expected and immediate action is required, have been issued for Keswick Campsite and the River Greta at Keswick. A total of six flood alerts have also been put in place, at Rivers Caldew and Petteril, near Carlisle; Rivers Greta, St Johns Beck and Bassenthwaite Lake near Keswick; Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwent Water at Keswick; Rivers Lowther and Eamont in east Cumbria; Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster near Windermere; and Rivers Duddon, Crake and Mill Beck in the south.
