CLARKSVILLE â The stories of setbacks were easy to find during the 2020 pandemic, but the year also brought news of what could be one of the largest quality-of-life improvements in Southern Indiana in decades, if not generations.
A preliminary plan for a sprawling, amphibious shoreline park was unveiled in August. After about 10 years of volunteer service to his community, Philip Maxwell is stepping down from the Tuscaloosa Planning and Zoning Commission.
Maxwell, 72, said he had hoped to finish out his third six-year term on the commission, but COVID-19 and other reasons have led him to step down early.
“It was several different factors,” Maxwell said. “And I like term limits. Somebody else could have some different viewpoints than me.”
