GODFREY The RiverBend Growth Association has announced a new fundraiser, the Support Your Local Chamber Auction, sponsored by OSF HealthCare.
Proceeds from the auction support our mission and will partly fund the RiverBend Growth Association Membership Assistance Fund.

GODFREY Larry Trent and incumbent Dwight Werts won seats on the Lewis and Clark Community College Board of Trustees, according to incomplete and unofficial results Tuesday evening.
With all but one precinct in Madison County in, Trent was the top vote-getter receiving 10,605 votes. Werts received 10,403.
Challenger Jack Holmes had 7,908 votes, and Jeffrey D. Ferguson 6,866.
Both Trent and Werts scored decisive victories in Madison County, with each receiving more than 7,200 votes. Holmes and Ferguson scored less than 5,000 each.
The race was closer in Macoupin, Jersey, Greene and Calhoun counties.

April is Financial Literacy Month, and the RiverBend Growth Association will host an informational Zoom call tomorrow (Wednesday) covering two topics. One topic tackles some of the perils of doing business online, the other will discuss financial stress.
Growth Association President John Keller tells The Big Z the two-topic call starts at 10am with a presentation titled: “Identity Theft Prevention, Social Engineering and Phishing/Smishing Scams.”

Five seek three trustee seats in Godfrey

GODFREY On April 6, voters in Godfrey will choose between five candidates for three trustee positions.
Incumbents Jeff Weber and Nathan Schrumpf are challenged by Sarah Woodman, Rick Lauschke and James Ward.
Weber, who grew up in Godfrey, is a graduate from Alton High School and the University of Missouri. He also served was an Army officer. He previously has been president of the Alton School Board, chairman of the Godfrey Planning and Zoning Commission and chairman of the Godfrey Sewer Department.
Weber said he has the skills to maintain the status of trustee for Godfrey.
