2018 Carson Watershed Management Forum set for April 11-12 in Carson City

CARSON CITY The Carson River Coalition, in conjunction with the Carson Water Subconservancy District, invites the public to its 2018 Carson River Watershed Management Forum. This year’s forum will be a 2-day event at the Carson City Community Center Theater, 851 E. William Street.

Coles County gets $106,000 grant for Embarras River project

February 26, 2021 SPRINGFIELD, Ill. Coles County Soil and Water Conservation District will receive over $106,000 in grant funding to update portions of the 2011 Embarras River Watershed Management Plan. The grants, provided by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, will support development of watershed-based plans within the  Embarras River Watershed, as well as education and outreach activities, such as watershed meetings and field days. “This project will update and better define the current watershed land use and opportunities for landowners and producers to adopt to further protection of the Embarras River Watershed,” said IEPA Director John Kim. “This watershed is home not only to wonderful water resources, but also to a large group of citizens, businesses, and organizations that have embraced the water quality protection through the development and implementation of the watershed management planning process.”

/ MyRadioLink.com For Immediate Release – February 18, 2021 Illinois EPA Awards $106,613 to Coles County Soil and Water Conservation District for Update of the 2011 Embarras River Watershed Management Plan SPRINGFIELD Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Director John Kim announced Coles County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) will receive over $106,000 in grant funding to update portions of the 2011 Embarras River Watershed Management Plan. The funds will also support development of a more specific watershed-based plan for at least one of the 15 sub-watersheds within the Embarras River Watershed. Coles County SWCD along with the project partners will also conduct education and outreach activities, including watershed meetings and field days.
