what some candidates are saying publicly, but what s the sense of what s happening behind the scenes? reporter: at the moment, it seems to be a real spectrum with some sources from rival campaigns telling me, yes, this is serious. this is potentially disruptive, but they re pointing out there is still a long way to go in the campaign yet. there are other republicans skeptical this could actually change the landscape at all, and then there s the language from a couple of conservative hard-liners in congress, which is raising concerns about potential incitement of violence after suggestions like, this is a war phase, or an eye for an eye. one member came out referencing military maps. big picture, keep in mind mr. trump all along has kept a grip on the republican base. after his last indictment, he saw virtually no erosion in support from that group. we ll have to wait and see when voters start casting ballots how that plays in the primary, lester. all right, hallie, thank you. do
