are not going to see this topic discussed on other channels and other places but your thoughts on this development and what it means big picture. yeah, you already see other channels dismissing this as suggesting this somehow shows that durham is coming up short without much, as much as they predicted but the reality is this is kind of an important deal because let s not forget that the dnc and hillary clinton used this law firm to essentially hide the payments that they were making to fusion gps and this opposition research. and to what you essentially have is an indictment of an operative here of the clinton campaign being indicted for going to the fbi, lying to them in an effort to manipulate the fbi into investigating a rival campaign. i think if this was flipped on its head and this was republicans who did this, it would be front pages everywhere. but it should be treated as an important moment. bret: steve, where do we think this is going?
streng has never been his clarity of message or delivery but watching his long-winding answers that don t make sense in recent debates raised the question as to whether that has gotten worse and whether he is up for this. it is not somebody who works for a rival campaign. that is absolutely an issue that will get bigger as we go. i covered him in 1988 and 2008, he s never been a great candidate. but certainly what we saw in that last hour was was very problematic. we could see an if enormous generation gap in the african-american community. bernie sanders won black voters under 30 narrowly. i m guessing in a biden performs more poorly than hillary clinton did with black voters or under 30 but i think among older african-american voters, there is a lot of ground for the other candidates to cover. that may be more difficult to dislodge. there is history beyond the debate performance but that is the key. we re all obsessed about iowa and bloody twitter a different word, this is a
