Taiwanese independence advocates yesterday marched as part of a “Taipei Spring” movement, demanding a referendum to abolish the Republic of China (ROC) Constitution and to formally establish Taiwan as a country.
Movement spokeswoman Wang Yen-pin (王演彬) said that amid China’s continuing military threat, he and other constitutional advocates are initiating a campaign patterned after the Prague Spring of 1968 in then-Czechoslovakia.
It is a matter of urgency to tell the world that Taiwan and China are different countries, with separate governments and political systems, he said after the march outside the legislature.

Democrats are fond of claiming in their attacks on President Donald Trump that he’s not respected in the world.
On the contrary, he’s greatly respected in many parts of the world, and very supported, especially by those who get what he stands for versus their enemies, for those standing against a lot of evil regimes such as Iran or China.
Trump is greatly loved both in Hong Kong and in Taiwan for the strong stance he has taken against China as well as the support that he’s given the freedom-loving people in both places.
Pro-Trump crowd holds rally in Taipei

A crowd yesterday marched in Taipei to rally support for US President Donald Trump and show opposition to the Chinese Communist Party.
At the parade organized by Epoch Media Group publisher of the
Epoch Times and affiliated with Falun Gong participants carried placards with slogans such as: “Taiwan-US cooperation, we support Trump to dispose communist China” and “Taiwan, Fight for Trump.”
Some signs echoed messages used by Trump supporters who believe he won the US election last month, with phrases such as: “Stop the Steal” and “Make America Great Again.”
