The music icons of our day love to push boundaries and challenge the public – with their sound, their style, and of course, their controversial music videos.
Some of our favorite pop entertainers, rappers and rock stars have made music videos that have tested the limits of what is acceptable on network television – and, in some cases, they’ve even benefitted from the allure and added curiosity of having their music videos banned from networks.
From flashing ample amounts of skin, to violence and gore, to inciting outrage with controversial political views, to potentially even causing harm from flashing visual elements, there’ve been all different reasons why music videos from top stars were not allowed to see light of day. (And sometimes, the stars go on to regret their biggest hits.)

Oscar-winning actress Olympia Dukakis, who took home the statuette for her role in
MOONSTRUCK, died Saturday in New York City. She was 89 years old. The news of her passing was confirmed by her brother on Facebook. After many months of failing health, she is finally at peace with her Louis, her brother Apollo Dukakis posted on Facebook. Her agent, Allison Levy, also confirmed her death to various media outlets. Dukakis had her daughter Christina Zorich by her side when she died at her home on Saturday. The family released the following statement after her passing that read Her brother Apollo Dukakis, her sons Stefan and Peter Zorich, and four grandchildren thank you for your love, prayers, and kind remembrances during this difficult time. Louis is a reference to her late husband who died in 2018.

Oscar-winning actress Olympia Dukakis passed away on Saturday, May 1 at the age of 89 in New York City. After many months of failing health she is finally at peace and with her Louis, brother Apollo Dukakis wrote in a Facebook post, remembering her husband Louis Zorich who passed in 2018.
Leading the online tributes was Cher, who starred with Dukakis in
Moonstruck, for which the late actress won her Academy Award in 1988.
Dolly Parton has written a heartfelt tribute to one of (her) favourite people , Olympia Dukakis.
The country music legend starred alongside the late actress 1989 s Steel Magnolias, and in a statement to U.S. TV show Today, the Jolene star said she was so sorry to hear her co-star had passed away. She has been one of my favorite people that I have ever known or worked with. I really got very close to her and felt like we were good friends, recalled Dolly. Even though I didn t get to see her much, I thought of her often and knew that she was such a quality human being. She will be missed by her fans, her family, and those of us that were lucky enough to get to know her personally.
