LAHORE: Punjab Police made foolproof security arrangements for the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections across the province Sunday. The IG monitored the situation and issued directions to all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs of the province before the elections. CPOs and DPOs should visit the sensitive polling stations in their districts and ensure security. For the elections, 835 polling stations and 1585 polling booths were set up across the province for the security of which 15,306 officers and personnel performed their duties while 859 police vehicles remained on roads for election duty. Security plan for Chand Raat, Eid

LAHORE: Lahore police has chalked out a comprehensive security plan for Chand Raat and Eidul Fitr. As per DIG Operations Lahore, around 7,000 policemen would perform duty on Chand Raat and Eid. Around six SPs, 35 DSPs, 83 SHO/Inspectors and more than 373 subordinates would be on duty.
Eid prayers will be performed on 190 open places in the city. Police Jawans of Special Security Unit (SSU), Anti-Riot Force (ARF), Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit will be highly alert on their places of postings and ensure complete checking of citizens at masajid and other related places.

In another project tantamount to a formal admission that the Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit and Punjab Safe Cities Authority did not come up to the expectation, the police introduced the Ababeel Squad, a patrolling force, on Saturday.
The purpose of Dolphin Squad at the time of launch was precisely described as the same, “fighting crime in congested areas and hotspots”.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Shehbaz Sharif was sent back to Kot Lakpat jail on Thursday after a checkup at a local hospital as his health deteriorated earlier in the day.
Strict security arrangements were made and a heavy contingent of police has been deployed in and around the hospital. Shehbaz’s personal physicians were also present in the hospital
It was reported that the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly would undergo positron emission tomography (PET) scan and other medical tests.

LAHORE:
An accountability Court on Monday adjourned the hearing of money laundering and assets beyond means scam against National Assembly Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif and his family till February 10.
Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz were presented before the court amid strict security arrangements. Heavy contingent of police including Anti-Riot Force (ARF) and lady constables were deployed on the occasion.
A prosecution witness’s cross examination was completed by the defence counsel during the hearing. The court has summoned other witnesses during the next hearing.
