jenna: right now bloodshed in syria as we continue to watch the developments there. sear ran security forces firing teargas into the crowds in the capitol of damascus as thousands fill the streets following friday prayer. this is state run i m sorry, state run tv is blaming armed gangs for killing four soldiers at an army post in daraa. most of what we are getting out of this country is amateur video. daraa is the city where the uprising began. rina ninan is live with more. reporter: it s significant we are seeing a large number of protests taking place in damascus because president a asad s forces are stronger there. a large number of protestors taking place there, chanting, we want to see the fall of the
protesters in the city of daraa. the epicenter of the uprising in daraa is shaking syria really to its core. in the meantime an explosion rocking a natural gas terminal, it s the second attack on the pipeline in recent months. rina ninan is live in jerusalem. reporter: breaking news on two other fronts. we are hearing right now out of yemen that five protestors have been shot dead there. there was supposed to be an agreement reached between the yemeni government and also protesters on the street that would allow the president to step down. that could destabilize the agreement if protestors star tao the streets. two rival groups have agreed and
are burning out of control in western russia. thousands of troops, tens of thousands of volunteers, are joining forces with firefighters who are just struggling to get a handle on this situation. so far, 40 people are dead and the flames have destroyed nearly 2000 homes. jon: a fox news alert. lebanese and israeli troops, exchanging fire along their border. we are getting reports that five people are dead, the worst violence in that part of the world since the 2006 war between those two countries. rina ninan is live in jerusalem. what set this off, rina? reporter: you know, we just had a briefing with the head of the israeli northern command, he s in charge of that border, and they are calling this, jon, the worst incident since the 2006 war. it started off as a very routine maintenance of what s known as a technical fence, a fence that isn t actually the border between israel and lebanon, it s a

in the meantime from overseas, there is breaking news, violence ramping up in the middle east, a series of rockets slam ago popular resort town in southern israel and also in the country of jordan. in israel, some damage there but no injuries. one person, however, dead in jordan. rina ninan is watching this live from jerusalem. what s happening here, rina? reporter: i tell you, there appears to be an escalation from gaza to israel, sinai to jordan, five rockets hitting between israel and jordan today, four of them hitting in the area of acaba, the resort town in jordan, one making a direct hit in front of the main road at the intercontinental hotel, frequented li many tourists, hitting hitting and killing someone in a taxi car, no one has claimed responsibility. it appears the rockets were actually not necessarily aimed at israel but very likely at jordan and could be maw the arab league
